today (Thursday, June 1 7, 2004) at Corley Funeral Home in Corsicana. Burial will be at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery. The homemaker died Tuesday, June 15, 2004, in Ennis. She was born Sept. 12, 191 1, in Corsicana arid was a Granbury resident for 12 years.

Survivors are daughter, Jeanice Childers of Normangee; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Ethel Blanche Patton Memorial services for Ethel Blanche Patton, 95, of Glen Rose, mother to Desmond Zacca of Granbury, were held Tuesday, June 15, 2004, in Cleburne The homemaker died Monday, June 14, 2004, in Glen Rose. She was born Dec. 14, 1909, in Jamaica British West Indies to Altamont and Celeste Auld Abrahms. Her husband, Nesip Zacca preceded her in death.

Other survivors are a daughter and two grandchildren. Mrs. Whiteley died Sunday, June 13, 2004, in Olton. She was born June 3, 1924, inTampico.

She lived in Granbury from 1974 to 2002 and was a volunteer at People Helping People. She married Lewis Elvin Barlow Nov. 23, 1940, in Clovis, N.M. He preceded her in death May 1, 1967. She later married William Foy Whiteley Oct.

27, 1973, in Weatherford. He preceded her in death Aug. 25, 2002. Numerous brothers and sisters also preceded her in death. Survivors are two sons, Darrell Barlow and Tommy Barlow of Lubbock; a daughter, Barbara Nance of Sherman; a stepson, Jerry Whiteley of Fort Worth; a stepdaughter, Glenda Kay Westbrook of Granbury; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Etta Jane Goss Funeral services for Etta Jane Goss, 74, of Granbury were held Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at Holly Hills Mausoleum Chapel. The beautician died Sunday, June 13, 2004, in Granbury. She was born Dec. 7, 1 929, to Delbert and Myrtle Hartsel Patton. After training, volunteers are Texas Department on Aging, certified volunteer ombudsmen.

Volunteer ombudsmen provide education and information to families, advocate and help resolve complaints for (or on behalf of) residents and observe activity in the facility. No previous experience is required. A free 36-hour training course is provided and volunteers determine their own hours. BVITAS Hospice Care is looking for compassionate volunteers to give some of their time to helping terminally ill patients and their families. Upcoming orientation classes prepare volunteers to visit private homes or nursing homes to provide respite for caregivers, offer companionship for the patient, run errands and help in other small ways. Assignments are made according to the volunteer's location preference. Work and family schedules also are accomodated.
