Hood County February 23, 1991 3B Lifestyles marry Feb. 9 in church ceremony Alecia McCroskey of Granbury became the bride of Henry A. Brown of Granbury on Saturday, Feb. 9 at 3 p.m. in the First Assembly of God Church in Granbury.

The bride is the daughter of David and Barbara Thompson of Granbury, and Jack McCroskey of Kansas City, Kansas. The double-ring ceremony was performed by Rev. Ervin Asiatico. The altar was decorated withra heartshaped arch with flowers and candelabrum. The bride was given in marriage by her father, Jack McCroskey, and her step-father, David Thompson.

The bride sang "Twelfth of Never" to the groom, and Scott Asiatico sang' "I Will Be Here." The maid of honor was Andrea McCroskey, the bride's sister. Flowergirls were Kristen Brown and Linley Overbey. The best man was Brent Shields. Ringbearer was Brandon Overbey. Ushers were James Brown and Sherman Brown, brothers of the groom.

The reception took place in the Family Life Center at the First Assembly of God Church. The bride's cake was heart-shaped. The groom's cake had the U.S. Navy seal on it. The couple honeymooned in Fort Worth.

The bride is employed by Valley View Nursing Home and will reside with her parents in Granbury. The groom serves with the U.S. Navy "AK" and is stationed in Bremerton, Wash. Member Jo Ann Miller shared information about slaves in East Texas. One of her ancestors who came to Texas during the period of the Republic was Matthew Gaunt. He owned 44 slaves at one time. The information was given by one of the slaves, who referred to himself and his wife as free slaves. The father of Matthew Gaunt was Sam Gaunt, one of the few soldiers from the American Revolution who is buried in Texas.

Another of Miller's ancestors from the other side of her family is Bennett Smith. He came to the Republic in 1823.
