2B, HOOD COUNTY NEWS, GRANBURY, TEXAS, SUNDAY, JUNE 20, 1982 Important transportation survey continues to spot county needs 1 Lifestyles Hood County News 573-1177 Preservation workshops continue cover the traditional jelly making process, but the workshop will focus on making jams and jellies without sugar and using the microwave to make jelly. Ingredients, procedures and storing will be discussed. The workshops are open to any person in the community and have been co-sponsored by the Granbury High School homemaking department and the Hood County Extension Service. the pickling process, equipment, ingredients and processing. Several recipes will be demonstrated and by bringing a jar, you can take home some samples.

Pickles and relishes add variety, taste and color to meals and are excellent ways to garnish meals. Making your own garnishes can save money as garnishes can be an expensive addition to the food budget. A pickling workshop is slated for Tuesday from 1 to 3 p.m. while a seminar on jellies and jams is set for Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m.

Both workshops will be held in the Granbury High School home-making department kitchen. The Pickling workshop will cover Laguna Vista, Spanish Trail, Granbury, Tex. 76048. The deadline for receipt of the cards is Wednesday, June30. The survey has been given the official name of Coordination of Existing and Needed Transportation Services, or more simply, CENTS.

The pilot survey and potential transportation program was made possible after it was brought to Gov. Bill Clements' attention the public transportation needs in 211 mostly rural Texas Counties. The local area was selected for the site of the first survey to try to learn if rural transportation is needed. For further information on the survey contact Mrs. Grissom after 2 p.m.

Forms may also be mailed to 306 All area residents who feel they need, or may need in the future, public transportation are urged to fill out and return survey cards available throughout the county. Should the survey show an adequate transportation need in the counties of Hood, Somervell, E-rath, Parker and Palo Pinto, there is the possibility of a new state program to fulfill that need. So important is thought to be this opportunity that a county-wide local committee has been formed to aid in gathering survey results. Rev.
