The couple plans a wedding trip to Sydney, Australia and the Fiji Islands in August. A getaway trip was made to a private vacation home on the San Saba River at Menard, Texas, for a few days. Following the reception the Robert Baumgardners held an open house and salad supper for family and out of town guests at their home with 61 in attendance. The newlyweds will make their home in Lubbock where they are in real estate with Bar-B-Realty. Rehearsal dinner The bridal party was honored with a rehearsal dinner in the privacy of the Kountry Kitchen by the groom's parents, Mr.

and Mr.s Joe B. Haynes. A menu of chicken breasts on rice dressing with broccoli, fresh green salad, homemade hot rolls and homemade desserts were served to members of the party and their guests. Centering the headtable was a framed counted cross stitch wedding sampler of the couple's wedding displayed on an easle. The sampler was made as a gift to Sherrie and Randall by Sherrie's sister Barbara Lindley.

Votive candles on brass candlesticks encircled by vines decorated guests tables. Courtesies Mrs. Odessa Addison hosted the bridesmaid's brunch at the Brownfield Country Club at 10 a.m. the morning of the wedding. A menu of fresh fruit plates, eggs benedict, baby sausages, fancy toasts, danish pastry, fresh orange juice, iced tea, and coffee was served.

The flowers centering the tables were in the bride's chosen colors of shades of apricot. Corsages were given to the honoree, Sherrie Baumgardner; her mother, Mrs. Robert W. Baumgardner; and the groom's mother, Mrs. Joe B.

The high neck bodice flowed over the shoulders to elbow-length sleeves. The tucked sash adorned the waist. Her corsage was a gardenia with ivory ribbons. The guests were received and registered for the ceremony by sisters-in-law of the bride, Ms. Joan Yaffe of Austin and Mrs.

Karl L. Baumgardner of Dumas. Karen and Matthew Phipps of Lubbock with Matthew and Peter Smith of Lamesa gave ceremony programs to the wedding guests us they arrived. The Recessional at the close of the ceremony was "My Tribute" played by organ and trumpet and concluded with a vocal solo and organ. Immediately following the ceremony the guests were received in Webber Hall of the United Methodist Church by Mr.

and Mrs. Randall C. Haynes and Mrs. Phil McCIendon of Amherst, and Lara Smith presented musical selections during the reception. An archway of green huckleberry boughs marked the receiving area with urns of carnations and Sonia roses on each side.

The bride's cake centered the bride's table. It was baked by the bride's father and decorated by the bride and her mother. The Wedding Cake That Is Good To Kal" was a white cake filled with almond cream and frosted with buttercream icing. The three-tiered cake had a base of four ten-inch cakes united with a four-teen-inch cake as the second tier and topped with the keepsake cake elevated on columns for the third tier. Silk flowers in shades of ivory and peach capped the cake and cascaded down the tiers to complete the decorative icing adorning the cake.

Silver candelabras belonging to her paternal grandmother, held two peach-colored tapers on each side of the. cake. A bride's matron's nosegay was displayed at the foot of each candelabra. A silver coffee service and silver punch lx)wl on trays with other silver appointments adorned the table. The table was covered with a candlelight satin cloth trimmed with ecru Alencon lace at the hem.

English tulle overlayed the table edge and was draped in swags with the peach ribbons. Sheer dainty rice cloth napkins were used. The bride's cake was served by Donna Swaringen of Lubbock and Ellen Meeks, of Midland. The banana crush punch was served by Lara Smith of Lamesa and coffee by Diana Jacobson, cousin of the bride from Adrian. Another cousin, Jo Ellen Jacobson also served at the bride's table.

Toasted pecans complemented the other refreshments. The groom's table was laid with a circular ecru cloth and overlaid with a square ecru linen cloth embroidered in grey cut-work. Grey napkins complemented the cloth. Centering the round table was a copper lantern adomed with a soft blue candle and shades of peach and ivory silk flowers and soft blue flowers. The coffee was served by Janet Jacobson, cousin of the bride, from an antique copper and pewter coffee service.

The bride-elect, who is also the daughter of the late H. James McDermott, is a 1978 graduate of Danvers High School and a 1982 honors graduate of the University of Michigan. The intended groom was a 1977 graduate of Aledo High School and a 1981 graduate of the American Technological University in Killeen. Both lieutenants fly tactical jets for the United States Navy. Drillette is presently stationed in San Diego, and McDermott in Pt.

Ford received many lovely gifts, arrangements of flowers and cards for the occasion. President and Mrs. Reagan sent a card congratulating Mrs. Ford on her birthday. Mrs.

Ford was born in Miller. S. D. and was reared in Indepen-dance, where she married Henry L. Ford.

They lived in Oklahoma, Colorado and Texas. The Fords once lived in the Round House in Hood County. The Fords had seven children; Robert, deceased; Tom, deceased; Isabel Scott, Cresson; Geraldine Allums, deceased; Elizabeth Williams, Fort Lauderdale, Maxine Crockett, Cross Plains; and Dorothy Um-phress. There is always plenty of food and jokes! And always have visitors to kinfolks! We always have a short program too! And wonder what Cecil has to tell us new! And we always hope Don will plan us a trip! And that none of us have to skip. We are looking forward to our trip to Tennesee! And in October is planned to be.

We are all anxious, the Grand Ole Opera to see! And hope the tickets will be a small fee. Tennessee is a long narrow state. With Blue Ridge Mountains to relate! Tennessee was named from an Indian word Tenasee! And The Grand Ole Opera and mountains we want to see! Tennessee has 20 State Parks and 11 national. And to want to see them would only be rational! Memphis is the largest city in Tennesee. And hope on our trip we get to see! Eleven authors have written books about Tennesee And I hope on our trip some of them we get to see! My ancestors came from Tennessee.

That's why it is of so much interest to me! Vet's Questions groom's cake. The three-tiered chocolate cake filled with chocolate mocha butter creme and covered with chocolate fudge icing was baked by the bride's father. It was centered on a large dark round wooden tray. Mixed nuts complemented the cake and were served from a dark wonder leaf shaped bowl. Registration of wedding guests was continued at the Reception.

The Unity candle was placed in an antique brass scale dish. The counter balancing dish held a pewter miniature of a little boy. This represented the new family and focused attention on the bride's book on the serving counter of the hall. Members of the house party as well as the servers included Mmes. Odessa Addison, Jackie Burns, Bill Burns.
