Not only is it important to me that every constituent have constant access to me and this office, but it is also extremely helpful for me to know what their thoughts and feelings are, and there is no better way to determine that than a personal visit. Serving in the Congress is a challenging job, to say the least, ft is hard work, and the pressures are constant. On the other hand, it is extremely rewarding and a great opportunity. The continual support and prayers of the people at home are a constant source of strength and encouragement. I realize full well that oftentimes it is my tendency to perhaps dwell too much on our problems, but that fact notwithstanding, I have a great respect and faith in our system and our people.

The Congress is a focal point of continual concerns and needs. Anyone serving here must constantly be reminded that frustration is a part of the process; but, contribution is the ultimate goal, and representation the object.

It sure helps to represent people whose primary interest is simple and direct to do what is best for the country. Sure, we all have our own special interests, and the Eleventh District is no exception to that; but there is no congressional district in this nation that has more truly dedicated patriots than does the Eleventh of Texas.
