Graveside services were Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999 in Dreamland Cemetery in Turkey with Rev. Melvin Clinton I officiating. Thurman M. Huston Thurman M.

Huston of Plano, a Borden Co. plant superintendent, died Friday, Sept. 24, 1999 at home. He was 71. Mr.

Huston was born Nov. 29, 1927 in Tolar. He was a graduate of High School and Texas A University. He served in the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie A. and Monema Mizzell Huston and a brother, Johnnie W. Huston. She was a member of the Elm Grove Assembly of God in Tolar for more than 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Barnett Nix of Tolar. Services were Friday, Sept. 17, 1999 in Denton. Arletta Marie Swaim of Granbury, a 1 homemaker and Avon salesperson, died Friday, Sept.

24, 1999 at Lake Granbury Medical Center. She was 93. Mrs. Swaim was born Sept. 12, 1906.

in Dallas and was a lifelong resident of Granbury. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church. She resided at Granbury Care Center for 17 years. She is survived by her friends and staff at Granbury Care Center and Lyon Hospice of Texas. Graveside services were Monday, Sept.

27, 1999 in Granbury Cemetery with Ray Rice officiating. Martin's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. The family suggest memorials be made to the American Cancer Society. Deannie Ray Hicks Sr. Deannie Ray Hicks Sr. of Granbury, a truck driver for Ingram Ready Mix, died Thursday, Sept.23, 1999 at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth. He was 55.

Mr. Hicks was born Dec. 27, 1943 in Hood County. His parents were Emmitt and Dovie McQueen Hicks. Willis Wilbert Parker Sr. of Granbury, a retired auto mechanic, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999 at Granbury Care Center. He was 85. Mr.

Parker was born March 11, 1914 in Zoolie, La. He was a Baptist and had lived in Granbury for 24 years. He is survived by his wife, Imogene Parker of Granbury; three sons, Larry Don Parker Willis W. Parker Jr. and James P.

Parker, all of Granbury; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services are today (Wednesday, Sept. 29, 1999) at 2 p.m. at Holly Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Wayne Shuffield officiating.

RoseMary Rumbley, wellknown author, historian and humorist, will give a review of "The Mother Book," during a fund raiser for the Granbury Family Community Education Club, Wednesday, Oct. 6 at the Family Life Center at the Granbury Church of Christ. Rumbley, author of "What? No Chili?" and "Unauthorized History of Dallas" will review the humorous work of Liz Smith, syndicated gossip columnist for the New York. Times. In "The Mother Book" Smith "gossips" about different types of mothers such as the Mama Mia, Jewish Mama, Black Matriarch, Irish Mother and Anglo-Saxon Mothers.

For more information, call 573- 3244. Algene Sargent Algene Sargent of Granbury, a sheet metal operator, died Friday, Sept. 24, 1999 in Granbury. He was 77. Mr.

Sargent was born Dec. 26, 1921 in Granbury. He worked for General Dynamics for 38 years and was a Granbury resident all of his life. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church and an armed forces veteran. He is survived by his wife, Dessie Sargent of Granbury; one son, Donny Sargent of Millsap; two sisters, Lucy Everette of Granbury and Evelyn Grooms of Weatherford; four grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren.

Services were Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999 at Wiley Funeral Home.
