Katherine Maye Prater Katherine Maye Prater of Stephenville, 83, an administrative assistant for Rep. Sid Miller, passed away Dec. 1, 2013. Services: 3 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at the Lacy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.

Werth Mayes officiating assisted by Rep. Sid Miller. Burial will follow at Pecan Cemetery. Visitation was Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at Lacy Funeral Home.

Katherine was born in Oberlin, Kansas, on May 12, 1930, to Floyd and Frances Emma (Richards) Lewis. She married Earl D. Prater on December 8, 1953, in Denver, Colorado. He preceded her in death on November 29, 1988. She was a member of the Granbury Christian Science Church.

She was the former mayor of Dublin, Texas, president of the Dublin Garden Club, a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority, and a member of the Texas Republican Group. She was recognized and honored with the Yellow Rose of Texas award in 2013. Survivors include sons, Gary and wife, Paula K. of Stephenville, Texas, and Gregory and wife, Emily of North Carolina; sisters, Mary Lou and husband, Bob Ross of Culbertson, Nebraska, Marilyn Kay and husband, Dean Michel of Denver, Colorado, Heddy Reiners of McCook, Nebraska, and Ginny Mowe of McCook, Nebraska; brother, Ray Ulrich and wife, Nancy of Florida; a niece, Debra Geihsler of Chicago, Illinois; grandchildren, Colton Aardal and wife, Tina of Stephenville Texas, granddaughter-in-law, Kelli Aardal of Hico, Texas, grandchildren, Vince Aardal and wife, Janae of North Carolina, Maria Aardal of North Carolina, Dawn Carter and husband, Travis of North Carolina, and Justin George of North Carolina; several great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Lewis; mother and step-father, Frances and Louis Ulrich; sisters, Anna Geihsler and Carol Aardal; and brothers, Robert Ulrich and LeRoy Ulrich.

Online condolences can be made at www.lacyfuneral.com. Dudette Browning Caudle Dudette Browning Caudle, 66, passed away Dec. 1, 2013, in Granbury. Funeral: Friends are invited to celebrate life at Funeral Home, Granbury, on Friday, Dec. 6 at 11 a.m.

Family will be available for visitation at 10:30. Dudette was born April 10, 1947, in Roswell, New Mexico. She was the oldest child of Dude and Jeanette Browning. As a child, she lived on ranches in New Mexico and Arizona before her family settled in Glencoe, New Mexico. She attended high school in Ruidoso where she was very active in band and cheerleading.

She moved to Texas in 1971 and was a longtime resident of Young County. In recent years she also lived in Austin and Granbury. Du- dette was a voracious reader, was always up for an adventure and loved to travel and explore. She enjoyed working jig-saw and cross-word puzzles and rarely missed an episode of Jeopardy or Wheel of Fortune. Dudette was preceded in death by her parents, Dude Browning and Jeanette Browning Menninghaus and her nephew Colby Lee Browning.

She is survived by her children Jodi Creager and husband Danny of Granbury, Waylon Scott and partner Kim Pothorst of Graham, Doka Cullender and husband Jay of Austin; her siblings Becca Browning of Mineral Wells, Tod Browning and wife Anne of Channing, Browning and husband Larry Nail of Loving, Joe Bob Browning of Glencoe, N.M., Cody Browning and partner Carmen Webb of Glencoe, N.M.; Granddaughters Becca Fuhrmann and husband Dominic of Stephenville, Kassie Alexander and husband James of Graham and Bethany Johnson of Granbury; several beloved great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a warm circle of friends. 29, 2013, in Granbury. Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Granbury, Texas.

Visitation: Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, 5 8 p.m. at Funeral Home with Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Connie was born Jan. 8, 1948, in Kansas City, Mo.

to Nick and Amy Kasinac of Sugar Creek, Mo. Connie was a gifted retail manager and later worked in corporate finance. In 1989 she moved to Grand Prairie, Texas with her husband, David. She and her husband retired to Granbury in 2011 to be closer to her daughter, Amy and family. She loved to cook and host family and friends in her home.

She was well known for her cooking and her love of children and pets. She was to all children that knew her including her grandchildren. She was a selfless woman who served others with a grateful heart and never complained or asked of things for herself. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nick and Amy Kasinac. Survivors: She will be missed by her husband, David Schwartz; daughter Amy Fleshman and husband Keith; Sister Carol Kasinac; Grandson Jacob Fleshman; Step-Grandchildren Randilyn and Jacquilyn Fleshman; Richard Howard, Father; Niece Wendy Curry; Nephew Chris Fry; Foster Granddaughter Christina Nixon and Family; In-Laws Ruth Morford, Carol Howell, Harold and Mary Lou Schwartz, Dennis and Sharon Schwartz, Jerry and Gloria Schwartz, Allen and Kathy Schwartz and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews and many friends.

Wiley Funeral Home made arrangements. Jerry Barton Jerry Barton, former resident of Hood County, passed away Nov. 15, 2013. A memorial service was held Nov. 18 at First United Methodist Church of Bryan, Texas.

Jerry was born Feb. 7, 1929 in Dallas, Texas to Homer Barton and Grace Simmans Barton. He was raised by grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R.W.Simmans, in the Antioch Community, north of Tolar, Hood County, Texas.

He began his education at the Antioch schoolhouse. He graduated from Tolar High School 1946. Upon graduation, he enrolled in the U.S. Navy, serving 1946-1948. He attended Texas College from 1949-1953 and was a member of the Corps of Cadets.

He was a proud member of the Fighting Texas Aggie Class of 1953, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Education. Upon graduation he served in the Air Force Reserve as a 2nd Lieutenant. He has been active in the Association of Former Students and a Century Club member since 1980. Jerry had a sincere desire to serve his fellow man through community, business and public service organizations such as Jr. Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees), the Central Texas Association of Life Underwriters, Lions Club, NRA and Republican Party.

In addition, he served as city council member for the City of Bryan. He owned his own business and served the Bryan community from 1953 to 2013. Jerry loved the outdoors and was blessed during his lifetime to afford and enjoy fishing and hunting as he desired around the world. He shared these adventures with his children and many loved friends. He is survived by his wife Helen Barton.

Survived also by his children Laurie Lou Barton, Jerry Dean Barton and wife Victoria Barton, Belinda Lea Barton Smith and husband Larry Edward Smith, and their mother Lometa Murl Wann; his grandchildren Amber Lea Barton Ross and husband Walker Ross, William Benjamin Smith, Kyle Edward Smith, Stephen Lee Smith, Christy Drgac and husband Jon Wise; and his great-grandchildren Cody Drgac, Annabel Dean Ross, Aubrey Jo Ross. Johnnie Dobbs Broughton Johnnie Dobbs Broughton of Granbury, 89, passed away Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, in Fort Worth. Graveside service: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec.

3, 2013, in Holly Hills Memorial Park. Memorials: Charity of choice. Johnnie was born Feb. 26, 1924, in Caruthersville, to Aaron Otto and Beatrice Dobbs. She married Albert Locker Broughton, Feb.

19, 1950, in Memphis, Tenn. She was a member of Benbrook United Methodist Church and a former realtor with the Fort Worth Board of Realtors. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Albert Locker Broughton on June 11, 2005. Survivors: Children, Donna Moore and husband, Ricky, of Granbury, Beverly Davis of Aledo; grandchildren, James Michael Calhoun, III, Clinton Locker Calhoun and wife, Lauren, Kelley Diann Moore, Travis Dean Moore and wife, Amanda; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Cordie Spradlin and Mattie Darrough, both of Franklin, Tenn. Arrangements were by Wiley Funeral Home.
